Understand analytics history and missing data
Learn when tracking history begins and how to interpret gaps in daily data.
Instagram Analytics records daily snapshots after you start tracking a profile. It does not reconstruct earlier dates.
When history starts
On the first day, a snapshot can be available while trends wait for additional daily points. Free tracking provides up to the available 90-day history window, starting from your own tracking date.
Daily updates
Tracked profiles update once per day, rather than continuously. Use the date controls to inspect the relevant history period.
If collection fails, the last successful data remains available and the missing day appears as a gap. Missing data is not a zero value or evidence that no change occurred.
Profile access changes
If a profile becomes private, new collection stops. Contact support if you need help with a particular tracked profile.
